DELUMEAU Jean-Christophe

Jean-Christophe Delumeau, a member of the Scientific Board of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP), graduated in medicine and neuropharmacology from universities of Rennes and Sorbonne (Paris). After medical residency, he completed a research program in intracellular signalling at the National Institute of Medical Research (Inserm, France), then moved to clinical research in healthcare companies based in Basel, Paris then Tokyo where he conducted multinational trials in neurodegenerative diseases and cerebrovascular disorders. From 2001 until June 2017, he endorsed the responsibilities of regional pharmacovigilance leader at Bayer in Japan, China and Singapore until his appointment, in 2017, as head of pharmacovigilance policy strategy with a global scope. In July 2022, Jean-Christophe Delumeau, was appointed as a board director of the Institute of Pharmacovigilance (IPV), the NGO headquartered in Prague developing the Global Pharmacovigilance Professional Certification (GPPC) in collaboration with ISoP. Within IPV, Jean-Christophe Delumeau is also developing the PVReg project devoted to facilitate the compliant understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations, especially those resulting from the move toward regulatory strengthening in a diverse and increasingly complex safety regulatory landscape.

Nitin Joshi

Nitin Joshi is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Drug Safety, the official journal of ISoP.
He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the newsletter Reactions Weekly and a senior editor in the Adis Journals group.
Nitin is a pharmacist by qualification and has been working in medical publishing for more than 18 years.
He has previously worked as an associate editor in the Business Intelligence group of Adis, as a therapeutic area editor (immunology, respiratory, nephrology and gastroenterology) for Adis journals, and as the editor of the journal Drug Safety – Case Reports.

Jim Buttery

Jim is the inaugural Professor of Child Health Informatics at the University of Melbourne. He is the Chief Research Information Officer and an infectious diseases physician at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. He is also the Head of Epidemiology and Signal Detection of SAEFVIC, the Victorian Immunisation Safety Service, and Group Head, Health informatics, at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. He is a co-director of the Global Vaccine Data Network and serves on the Australian TGA Advisory Committee on Vaccines. He serves on multiple DSMB including the international SPEAC meta-DSMB for CEPI, and is a member of the Brighton Collaboration Scientific Committee. His research focuses on innovative and optimal use of large-scale data to inform child and public health questions.

Sepehr Shakib

Professor Shakib is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Adelaide. His main research interest is in polypharmacy and multimorbidity

Chinmaya Mahapatra

Dr. Chinmaya Mahapatra, M. Pharma, Ph.D. A gold medal awardee in Master’s degree completed his Ph.D.
from Berhampur University with DST INSPIRED Fellowship. He had accomplished his Post graduation diploma in Clinical Research from Bangalore.
He has over10+ years of experience in the field of Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacovigilance.
He has worked as a Quality Assurance officer for Ciron Drugs and IPCA Laboratories Ltd.
Currently, he is working as an LQPPV (PvOI) for Intuvigilance.
Along with this, he is also associated with Neotia University as a full-time Associate Professor & HOD of the Department of Pharmaceutics.
He has published a book “Fundamental Concept of Pharmacy & Its Application” with 10 research articles and four Indian patents, two German patents, and three UK design patent to his credit.
He is a certified member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) USA.
Since 2020, he is leading the international peer-reviewed “Journal of Pharmacovigilance and Drug Research (JPADR)” as Editor-in-Chief and is also a Founder President of the Global Pharmacovigilance Society.

Ian Chi Kei Wong

Professor Wong is the Head of Department of Pharmacology & Pharmacy and holder of the Lo Shiu Kwan Kan Po Ling Professorship in Pharmacy. He is also the Co-Director of the Centre for Safe Medication Practice and Research.
Professor Wong was the Vice-President of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance between 2016 and 2019. Professor Wong has also advised the Departments of Health in England and Hong Kong, the World Health Organization, the European Medicines Agency, and the pharmaceutical industry. He has over 500 peer-reviewed papers published in prominent journals including Nature portfolio journals, JAMA Network Journals, Lancet family journals and BMJ journals. Professor Wong was cited among the top 1% of scholars in the Clarivate Analytics’ Essential Science Indicators in eight consecutive years between 2015 and 2022.

Course A: Introduction to Pharmacovigilance

Intended to any Health Carer Professional involved in pharmacovigilance-relevant activities (basically any HCP), Pre-Conference Course A will introduce the evolution of pharmacovigilance and its basic concepts over the past decades as well as its essential requirements and practices. Subsequent presentations will address more specifically: i) the detection of safety signals and their management, ii) the evaluation and periodic re-evaluation of the benefit versus risk and uncertainties of medicinal products, iii) Pharmacovigilance and risk minimisation planning, post-approval data generation, and how to adapt those methods to diverse health care systems. Those presentations will be followed by a practicum exercise involving the Audience combining benefit versus risk evaluation and design of a risk minimisation intervention.
